It was reported at the meeting of the University Senate to-dav that a sum of =GIOO or more had been collected by graduates of Canterbury College for tho purposo of founding a prize in memory of tho late Professor Cook. Tho University was askeel to accept the money and to provide an annual prize in mathematics, tho prize to be awarded for exceptional merit at tho honours examination. The Senate decided to thank the graduates and to inform them that they (the Senate) would be pleased to provido an annual prize in tho direction desired. The matter of drawing up regulation's was referred to the Science Committee.
