BROTHERS' QUARREL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Waimate, January 15. ; Thomas Scott was to-day committed foj • trial on a charge ot shooting his brother Allan frith .a pea rifle on January 2. Tho brothers quarrelled, and,- the elder 0113 got tho rifle,' and is alleged to hare fired it when his. brother entered the hut, the bullet passing through the thumb' of the left hand, and lodging about an inch' below- the- heart .of th». young brother. Tho bullet was noc found, but tho wound has healed. The evidence went in the direction of showing that the gun's going off was accidental. The brothers avo young men'sons of 4 farmer in tho district. ' .
