FUNERAL OF JEM MACE.
The funeral took place recently at An* 'field Cemeterv, Liverpool, of the famous ex-champion pugilist, Jem Maice. 'Jlany ■well-known people "in-tho sporting world attended the last rites,, which were conducted by the deosased's son, the Eer. ■Ufred J[ace. On one of the numerous floral tributes was a. card containing the following verse "Where hardy heroes nature's weapons wield. He steed unconquered, champion of the field. Time counts him out, but memory will remain— We ne'er shall look upon his like agaiit.
