AUSTRALIA'S LAND TAX.
AN INJUNCTION ASKED FOR. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. January 10, 9 p.m.) Melbourne, January 16. Mr. Frank. Osborne, a solicitor, has issued a writ against the I'ederal Government asking for a declaration that the land tax is invalid, as it is not within the powers of the Commonwealth. Mr. Osborne has made an. application for an injunction restraining the Commonwealth l'rom requiring returns or enter-' ing on land to make valuations.
