Auckland, tho committee of tho Christohurch Cliamber of Commerce has passed .the following resolution .• ''Tho committee of the Christchurch Chamber heartily support tho. Auckland Chamber in this matter." We look upon it-.as a question affecting tho "whole,- of the Dominion, and feel confident that tho Prime Minister and his colleagues -are quito alivo to the importance of this question,' and will uso all means necessary, to prevent the possibility of any injustice being, done' to this Dominion in connection- with. t.le High; Commissionership -of tho. Pacific, and our trade -'.with* the islands .there.". Tho resolution carried by the Auckland Chamber t:> be forwa'rded to the Prime -Minister pointed out- that tho Chamber viewed with concern tho move l ment now on foot in the Commonwealth of. Australia for the removal of the High Commissioner, of the Western Pacific from Suva to Sydney; and considered that such a removal would bo prejudicial to tho interests of New Zealand as regarded her (hide and interests in the Fijian group and other islands -which' are under British' protection in tho north-cast and south of tho said group'. The resolution ended by requesting t'ho Government to use all constitutional means at its command to prevent tho passing of the control of, the islands to any other State. .
