GENERAL FARMING NEWS.
The supply 'of ' milk to the various factories in the Wairarapa has kept up remarkably well, considering the dry weather which has been experienced during tho last week or two (says tho "<Jge"). .Speaking to a New- South Wales farmer, Mr. J. Drysdale, manager of tho Weroroa Experiment Station, who is in Australia on the look-out for purebred dairy cattle, said tho New South Wales 'dairy cattle he had seen could not I 'compare with New Zealand-bred animals in point of size, nor did they look in the same street as producers.—Exchange. Matters in reference to the new coojimtivo bacon company that has been formed to operate in the Eltham district are now well under way, and it is expccted that a start will shortly bo made with factory work (says a Taranaki report). Tho W.iitara Dairy Company put up a good record for milk>test during the last week in December. Of the twenty-nine suppliers to tho main factory the lowest test was -10, and the highest 5.2, the average being;-1.3.
