. In 1910 the exports exeeoded those of the previous .year by £148,C51, the rebeing £1,189,272 and £1',040,621. This is solely attributable to .the increase in vraol. Tho value of wool exported from Gisborne is given ss £769,741, and the increase is no doubt due. to the better, prices which prevailed last year. Greasy wool showed the most improvement, for' the value given in , the. return was £274,4-36 in i advance of the amount. included in the figures for 1909. Tho oxport of scoured wool 'in 1910 was not as large as in the previous year, but tho value increased .by. £1946. Slipo wool was not shipped to nearly the same extent as in 1909, and'the decrease in the value of the quantity exported • was £10,957, when compared -with tho previous year. ~ Mutton, and lamb were not aa largely ■Exported as; in '1909, ' and the value .6howed.a marked, decrease. In that year ; 372,073. carcasses of mutton wore sent-Home, and their -value was set down : at £218,383, "while last'year the consignments' totalled 303,838 carcasses, valued'at £161,876.
