« FATE OF A TARANAKI SETTLE?,, Mr. George Tolkl, a well-known Fr;mkloy iload settler, who was gored by a bull on Tuesday evening, died on Wednesday night tram, the elfect of the injuries' he 'sustained. Mr. Todd's son ran to his father's assistance, and with Messrs. George Tippins, Harry Crozier, and Arthur Lander, carried him to the house, where first aid was given, pending the arrival of'."Dr..- Fookes, who was immediately sent .for and was in. 'attendance- very .: promptly. After;. the 'wounds had been bandaged the. injured man was brought in to Miss Baker's private hospital. He was badly gored in the groin and thigh, in addition to which ho was much cut about by the barbed wire, and, as stated, he succumbed to his injuries. The same bull, it appears, turned upon Mr. 'Todd's son some days ago, but his attention was diverted by the dog being set. .upon him.
