Some excitement was attendant on the movements of a visitor to New Plymouth this week (says the "News"). Subsequently his -actions aroused suspicion that he was mentally deranged, and tho police being informed ho.was interviewed Ho quietly gave up tho revolver on being asked for it, .and it was then plain that he was suffering from tho effects of a drinking bout, though in conversation he was quite rational.* A friendly "turn'' was considered best under tho circumstances, and he was driven home in his gig from One of tho livery stables.
