The dutv of caring for the graves of. thS men who "died in the defence of the colch , ny in the early days is one that claims the interest of all residents in the Dominion (says the Auckland "Star").-' During last .session of Parliament the. secretary of the Victoria-League wrote-to Sir. A. M. Myers, 11.P., asking ihim to endeavour to get a sum placed on tlio Estimates for the-purpose of repairing the f raves. of the soldiers who fell in tho [aori War, special attention being drawn to tlie neglected state of those in the Symonds Street Cemetery, a,matter which the : -league had appointed a special committee to deal with. Iu reply to a question by, 3lr.
