The now British India ritcimer 'Abhonc, left Plymouth on her maiden voyage on November 5 for Rangoon, via Suez Canal, since when nothing has been heard of her. Tho gravest fears arc entertained in regard to her, especially as the steamer Boscia paw on November 7 (states the Sydney "Daily Telegraph"), in 44dcg. north 9dcg. west, a steamer founder which had a black funnel with a white ring. The funnels of the British India's steamers arc black, with two white rings. The tonnage of tho Abhona is 4066, and her value said to be £100,000. She had no cargo on board. THE EAST COAST SERVICES. An alteration is announced'in the run* ning of two of the boats employed by the Union Company on the East Const run from Auckland to Dunedin. Tho steamers affected are tho Mokoia and Tarawera. Tho Mokoia is to leave Auckland on Friday, January 20. instead of Saturday, January 21, and will work Gisborue on Saturday morning and Napier the samp evening. From the latter port she proceeds direct to Lyttelton. 'She-then takes up the Tarawer:*'s running, leaving Lyttelton or. Monday, January 23, arriving at Wellington on January 24. and leaving for Nanier. Gisborne, and Auckland the same afternoon.

Albert Docks, London, at 7.15 a.m. on Thursday. November 24, the I New Zealand Shipping Company's R.M.S. Turakina embarked passengers . at Tilbury, and commcnced her long voyage to Wellington, via way ports, tho same day. Plymouth was recehed at 4.27 p.m. on Friday, November 25, and, after taking on board tho remainder of her passengers and mails the Turakina left England finally for Las Falmas. On the run down to the Madeira Island?, strong head winds and moderate seas were experienced across tlic Bay of Biscay, and froni thero fine weather until port was made at 11.25 a.m. on December 1. After replenishing bunkers at Las Falmas the pteamcr continued her passage for Capo Town on December 2, at 6.30 a.m. ' En route the vessel made a call at Tencriffo to land a few passengers, and then experienced fine weather until arrival at Capo .Town on December 17 at 2.30 p.m. The South African port was lelt at 11.18 p.m. the same day, and Mr. H.
