Connolly's Jolly Beggar, who had won the Perth Cup on. tho Wednesday, carried off the : All-Aged Stakes, and created an Australasian record for the seven furlongs. So far nothing definite is' known as to whether or not the mare will see the post, but judging by the prices on offer about her it is very evident that a host of jieoplo are risking their money and taking tho chance of her starting. The ICilcheran filly Masonic, who. was reported to be sold "to Mr. M. Melrose, ran second in the Hanging Rock Cup, won by. Magneto, but sho was entered as owned by Mr. J.- Hall, though she was trained by S. Casey' who also attends to tho toilet of Mr. Melrose's horses.

As was the case last season, first place in the list of winning trainers in England is this year occupied by Alec Taylor, who

trains Leniberg, and the remainder of tUo ox-Australian sportsman, Mr. H. Faine's, team. Sccond place was secured by R. Wcotton.

At Manchester on November 24 four of the six winners were trained by I?. Woofcton. Threo of tho winners were ridden by Frank Wootton and tho fourth by his brother Stanley.

If all is xvell, .the Kins and Queen will bo present at Epsom races on tho Derby and Oaks days, and tho arrangements for tho visit of tho Court to Ascot will bo the fame as during tho past reign. It is very likely (says "Truth") that tho King will attend Goodwood races, on threo days of tho meeting, and in tho autumn his Maiasty may bo seen at Newmarket during cither .tho Second October or tho Haugliton mooting.

One of ,the latest additions to H. Eva's team at New Plymouth is a two-year-old by Gingal from Lady Sylvia, .owned by Messrs. J. and N. Eva. ' Eva has lately been having a lot of trouble through the prevalence of colds amonghis charges, Plantation in particular hav•ing been greatly' thrown back through this ailment.

The two-year-old colt (by Advance, from a Southern Chief mare), owned by Mr. H. •M. Simmonds ,of Palnierston North, was shipped on Monday to Ohakune, where Mr. D., Simmonds.. will look, after tho youngster. Mr.. Simmonds has also purchased a yearling full-brother to the colt, but he will stay at his breeder's place, Mr. D. Fraser's, in the meantime.
