HEAVY RAINS IN THE NORTH By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrieht. Brisbane, January 10. Thero have been heavy rains in Central and Northern Queensland. At Cloncurry 20 inches of rain has fallen sinco Friday last. The town is flooded. There is five feet of water in the hotel bar.' A telegraph message.from Ayr, GO miles south-west of .Townsviilc, states that seventeen inches of rain have fallen. . The Burdekin River is rising, rapidly, v and railway communication has been stopped. Other places report heavy, rains with vashawnys, and floods are threatened.
