The Auckland Trotting Club's summer meeting was concluded this afternoon when the southern champion, Dillon Bell, made an attempt to establish a two miles record of 4min. 3lsec. for a purse 250 sovs., given by. the club. Ho failed to get.thp figures set him, but succeeded in trotting under 4min. 42sec., and wins the ' purse of 100 sovs. given for the lowering of the time.
