;By Telegraph.—Spccial CoiTcfipondent.) Auckland, January S. Mr. E.. Seniple, organiser of the Ne»Zealand Federation of Labour (register-: cd), who is at present in Auckland, states that the federation invited Mr. Peter Bowling to New Zealand for- the purpose of assisting Labour on the lines of industrial unionism, and for the purpose of enabling him to build up his health, after the strenuous times he had recently experienced in New South Walesl "Mr. Bowling has toured practically the whole of New Zealand since his arrival," said Mr. Semple, "and lias addressed many successful meetings. His engagement with us terminates next week. Beyond that" know nothing, except that the Christchurch Trades and Labour Counoil appears to have passed some resolution favouring an extension of his engagement! The New Zealand Federation of Labour, lioivever, will not assist or. identify itself with anv movement which is not. directly associated with the progress of industrial unionism. We recognise that before any political action can bo taken, tta industrial armv must be \vell organised, and Mr. Bowling, like ourselves, is not • an anti-Parliamentarian, bnt lie recognises the futility of a Labour party before the industrial "workers are organised into one common organisation. For' this reascn we do not anticipate taking any prominent part in the elections of . this year, bnt expect to bo prepared for political warfare by 1911." • j • , 11 j Mr. Peter Bowling arrived in Auckland last night from tho goldficlds; and'speaks at the Opera House to-night. - ■
