a LOAN IN PROSPECT. ' (By Telegraph—Press Association Copyright) (Rec, January 6,'0.10 a.m.) Sydney, January 5. The new Labour Government finds that in order to carry out its public works programme it may have to borrow in London in the near future. ' The Government has decided to raise the rate o£ interest-on stock issued: locally to 3J per cent., 3J per cent, being below the normal market rate.
FREEZING AND MINING PLANTS. Sydney, January 5. Tho Government has decided to assist prospectors in , erecting State crushing plants.
The Government is also considering the matter of the erection of freezing works in country centres with the object of furthering meat export.
