DEAD MAN IDENTIFIED.
SEARCH FOR "PETER THE PAINTER." GOVERNMENT PROPOSALS. (Eec. January 6, 0.30 a.m.) London, January 5. Twelve Mauser rifles and several Browning pistols have been found in tho ruins at Sidney Street.
Of the two dead bodies, only that of the man "Fritz," otherwise Svaars, has been identified.
The police are convinced that both men were present at the Houndsditch shooting.
Twenty detectives are searching for "Peter tl\c Painter" in the East End. It is uncertain, whether the men wero companions of Morountzeff, who was regarded as the leader of the gang.
Mr. Winston Churchill {Home Secretary) has decided not to issue any Homo Office report on the siege. Ho is qonsidoring that with tho assistance of tho chiefs of tho Metropolitan City Police and others what future measures are necessary to cope with alien criminals.
Inquiries show that members of foreign clubs in London generally favour the registration of aliens, with a view to excluding those unnblo to produce satisfactory credentials from tlieir country of origin.
