Contingent; which "com--petcd at the military tournament, was entertained at a sitioko concort last by tlie Tournament Committee. During the evening, Staff. Sergeaut-Jlajor Forrest, in charge of tho Tasmanians, presented Lieutenant Bnick with a gold sovereigncase and a cigarette-cafe, in appreciation of the fact that ho bad provided tlieni ■with such a splendid team of horses with which to compete in the mounted events, and to which was mainly duo their success in winning tho Lloyd-Lindsay contest. Kergeant-Jlajor Forrest also presented Captains Palmer and Peach ami Mr. W. Dcvino with photographs of the team, ill recognition of. tho great hospitality which they had received at their bauds. This morning Sergeant-Jlajor Forrest.and Sergeant Cartledgo waited on the Mayor at the Council Chambers, and asked him to convev to • the citizens the hearty thanks of the contingent for the welcome which bad been extended to them., Ser-gcant-Jlajor Forrest stated that they couid confidently anticipate that other teams would come across to the next tournament.
