— «- MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION. - . The fourth annual conference of 'thl Association of Suggestive Therapeutics opened at the residence of. the ,president, Mr. David Shaw, Papanui Road,- Christchurch, recently.. The.president, iii bidding the delegates , welcome, expressed gratification .at... the 1 spread of the knowledge of suggestion : . in all parts of the' world,- and referred to the fact that, in the near future, it was expected that legislation would bo passed in; Nor/ Zealand raising the status of the association to that of any other ■ registered body, and giving, it legal recognition. ■ He mentioned with regret that the association had lost by death one of ' its honorary members, >lr.' W. J. Fos- . ter, of Mitchelltown, Wellington, who - had always taken a great interest in ithe association. A. vote; of condolence was pajsed with the widow and. family,, and ■ the secretary instructed to convey..same . to them. ... ■ - The election of members' at-the last annual meeting ' was: approved, -and. Mr. J. I'. Arnold, M.l'.; was proposed as an . honorary meriiber. • It was decided to' hold' the next an- ■ uunl conference in Christchurch, oil December 30, l'Jll. ■ ' ■■■■■:-■ On resinning later in the day, the session was open to the public. Several • of those interested in the subject availed themselves of the opportunity to hear the papers read by various members. The president, in welcoming .the visiters, ■ referred to the fact that-this .was the - first time that non-members had been' invited to attend any of their meetings.The president then delivered an address on "Understanding and Application," followed by a paper from Mr. F. Helps (vice-president), on "The Sign of the Times," ;>nd one from Mr. W. 13. Taverncr, of Duiiedin,-on "World Order."
