Brewer (bow).- -• The first time tho boots went out the weather was too bad to permit of them going to the post, and all were swamped except the Star lx>at. The race was rowed in the. evening, only the throe above-named starting. Youths' Fours. One mile. Picton: F. Burns (stroke), H. Whiting (3), N. Gordon 12), L. Godlrey (bow), 1. Star: J. N. M'Kav (stroke), C. E. Holmes (3), -. M. Hall (2), P. V. Hackworth (bow), 2. Blenheim: A. Hale (stroke), B. Boyle (3), W. Drew (2). W. M'lsaac (bow ),3. Also started: Petone, Wairau, and Nelson. A good race all the way. Picton spurted close to the post and won by a few feet. Junior Double Sculls. One mile. First prize ,£5, second M. Star.Booting Club: F. F. Tnrnbull (stroke), AV. H. Brewer (bow), 1- Picton: E. Kenny (stroke), P. Norton (bow), 2. Star jumped away at the start, and were never headed, and' won comfortably. Maiden Double Sculls. One mile. First prize £i, second .£2. Picton: J. Tims (stroke), R. Neill (bow), 1. Star: N. J. M/Kay (stroke), F. G. Craig (bow), 2. Wellington: A. X. Matherson (stroke), A. W. Jackson (bow), 3. Only starters. After a great race Picton succeeded in winning by 6 feet. Picton got a slight advantage at tho start, and won on the post, by inches.
