INSPECTION OF MEAT.
Sir,— Allow mo space in your valuable columns to point out what,.!, consider n gross injustice to our unfortunate humanity. We bear and read on every band tho necessity of protection from diseased meat. - Abattoirs -are- ere.cted .at the.principal centres, and qualified veterinarians appointed, for the inspection of the-, meat,. to' avoid' such being sold when unfit for human-consumption. Surelyjf this is absolutely necessary for those of us who are strong arid 'sound,-it should bo made--to ripply to such air -institution as -Porirua.is.flum, where animal food is so risky a-diet-for. those unfortunates. We who are unfortunate enough to have relatives there - should -ask our-Liberal Government to stipulate that meat, should be inspected, for use at that' place. I feel sure the result on.tho inmates would bo strikingly effectual.—l am, etc., A WELL-WISHER.
