DEMENTED WIFE'S DEED.
—« SHOOTS HUSBAND WITH PEA-EIFLE,-(By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.);.-, Masterton, December 20. At Kopuaranga yesterday morning, the wife of a settler named J. J. Donovan became demented, and, procuring a pearifle, sliot her husband in the head, . Donovan was brought to Masterton, and medically attended to. The bullet has not yet been extracted, but serious complications aro not likely to arise. The . unfortunate woman was this afternoon • committed to a mental hospital.
