That, of course, is a step which, though possible in the Vatican, with a limited number of dependents, cannot bo taken, elsewhere, iluch of the evil is. artificial and might be remedieel, as far as the price of food is concerned, by. some legislative action. The price of meat, dairy produce,. fruit, and vegetables is said to bo purely- artificial and : duo to combination among the producers I and principal vendors.
