After he left the station tho . pipe belonging to a constable, was-missing, . and oil Monday accused was seen smoking, this pipe on tne wharf. Speaking on his own behalf, accused stateu that he had ■:'. never been before a court before. Hβ came to Wellington from the country to . go Home by the Drayton Grange, and though the pipe was found'in his possession, he was unable to account for it ..
