The, lawn tennis championships were eontinued to-day in fine weather,, a largo attendance .. again being present. The courts -were in splendid order. The good play of Fisher and Peacock and Misses Wellwood and Travers was the feature of the day. The .annual tournament of the Wellington.Prpvincial Lawn Tennis Association was concluded yesterday on the Day's' Bay, grounds. The weather was perfeqt, and the tournament was a'complete : success. Stevens won the Men's Handicap Singles without difficulty, defeating Frost in the.final by 60 to 46. One of tho jnost interesting games was the final in the Ladies' Doubles, in.which Misses Curtis and Cochrane, after a keen struggle, defeated Misses Bennett and Walters, 60—5 S. . Miss Curtis, who is quite a young player, also won the Ladies' Singles. Lawrence and. Sampson . were victors in the Men's Doubles, and Miss Caverhill and P. Lewis won the Combined Doubles.
