• —-—frThe Hon. E. Mltenzie' (Minister for Public Works') left for Nelson last night. Ho intends to spend Christmas and New, Year in his electorate—Motueka. Alto-' gother hp will be absent: from ton for two or three weeks. . The Hon. J. Carroll (Native Minister) is at present at Napier. Dr. Hardwick-Smith (Medical Superintendent at the Hospital) is to commence his annual month's leave during January. He wijl make''the; necessary arrangements for the supervision of the- Hospital during his absence. Mr: .George Willis, secretary to the Wellington-Hospital Board, has been granted four weeks'leave of absence from January , 4 next. During January Mr. : Willis will , attend the military tournament at Pqlm'erston North, aid a Territorial camp, probably at Karori. Councillor B. Lynneberg has been appointed Deputy-Mayor ■of the Onslow .Borough during tho time- the Mayor (Mr. J. G. Harkncss) is absent ,in England,
