Yesterday afternoon was "gift day" at the 'Wellington Brotlicrliood and a large number .of parcels of goods were taken for distribution amongst tlio needy poor of AYellington at Christmas time.

Tho president, the Kcv. E. O. Blamires, gave a reading from Charles Dickens —"Scroogo's Christmas." Miss Lulu . Arnold gavo a recitation "Tho Old Folks' Christmas," Mrs. Lewis sang ."Star of Bethlehem," and Messrs Georgo and Newton contributed solos. Mr. AY. Jennings was an ablo accompanist. The secretary announced tliat the picnic'had been arranged to take plaeo at Upuer Hutt 011 Tuesday, December 27. Tho meeting concluded by tlio president wishing all present a happy Christmas. Ho also announced that a mooting will bo hold as usual next Sunday.
