! A meeting of the Ex-members' Association of the Highland Rifles was held last Wednesday evening, and was well attended. Dr. Gibb,' during the course of the sermon, making special reference to the defence .forces, A party of two officers and twenty-five . non-commissioned, officers and men, under charge of Lieutenant Willis, will leave Wellington on Saturday evening tip. attend the meeting of the Highland : 'Corps, at Christchurch, during Christmas week. On their return tho party will attend tho military tournament at Palmerstou North.
