LEGISLATION BY EXHAUSTION.
LONG SITTING IN NEW SOUTH WALES— Br Telegraph-Press Assoclatlon-Oopj-rislit. Sydney, December 17. ■ • The State' Assembly rose at 2 o'clock this morning, having sat continuously for thirty-five and a half hours. The Public Works Estimates, involving an expenditure of there and a half millions, wore passed towards' the end, when members were in a state of physical exhaustion. The application of the gag was frequent, Mr. Wade, ex-Premier, being one of the victims. Criticism almost ceased, most of the members lying on their seats.-
