SENSATIONAL EVIDENCE.
UPPER DECKS ALLEGED TO MOVE BODILY. . BOLTS BROKEN AND GAPS . APPEAR, (Rec. December 19, 0.15 a.m.) London, December 18. Continuing his evidence at the Waratah inquiry, the steward Herbert stated that he had called the engineer's attention to the movement 'of the promenade deck. -The whole of the wooden structure moved bodily athwart the sliip," and some bolt heads were broken off. The woodwork- around the saloon door separated from the ironwork to the extent of a couple of inches. SUPPOSED WARATAH RELIC. SHIP'S NAME NOT ON IT. (Rec. December 18, 5.5 p.m.). London, December 18. Reuter's Capo- Town correspondent reports that the deck-chair washed ashore .it Coffee Cove was inscribed only with the name "Moir" and the letters "N.R." On Saturday it was cabled that the "African World" bad circulated a statement from East London that deck chairs marked "Wnratah" had been ' washed ashore- at Coffee Cove.
