AMATEUR ATHLETICS. LOCAL CENTRE. _ The Wellington Centre of the New Zealand .Amateur. Athletic Association held a special meeting -last evening, M". _ R. M Villy presiding. . Mr. Auld, on behalf of the Civil Service Club, stated that it would abandon January 28 as the date for its sports meeting, in the hope of holding a Civil Scrvice tournament -later in the season Mr. Auld said'his club considered it had been forestalled by the Centre in regard to January 14 oq ! 7, as agreed to allocate January *o to tho Petone Club as a date for its sports meeting.
