' RACE- AT TE AEO BATHS. At Te Aro Baths last evening, 'the Swifts. Amateur Swimming Club decided a 50yds. B class handicap. The result was as follows;—G. M'Grath (2sec.), 1; T. H. Jamieson (2sec.), 2; P. Grey ;(scr.), 3. Also started: J. S. Martin (osec.); S. Murray (3sec.); A. W. Robertson (2sec.); J. E. Watson (lsec.); S. Brewster (scr.). Time, 31 l-ssec. .Won easily: There was a close finish between second and third. • A ■ general meeting of the Lyall Bay Surf Life Saving Club (branch of tho Wellington Amateur Swimming Club) was held at the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last evening, there being about -10 members present. This club possesses 60 members. Officers were elected as under:—Captain, Mr. W. G. Morpeth; vice-captain, Mi. E. Levy; committee, Messrs. Gnmiuett, Somerville, andOTlaberty. Consideration of rules was postponed until next week.
