THE STEAD' MEDAL; (By Telegraph;— Press Association.! ' jm. i Auckland, December 15. lhe presentation of the Stead gold medal and certificate: of the Koyal Humane Society was .made to.JIr. M'Pherson, of Auckland, tc-night by the . Mayor. Th« .Stead medal founded by the late ilr. G. Gr. Stead ten years ago, has on this .occasion been awarded tor the second time. On the occasion, of tha Strand Street in August, 1909, Jlr._ JI Pherson, at the imminent nsfc..of-his hfo.-'reseued one of the tenants of the building (Mr. Crouch) from a position of great peril. Jlr. M'Pherson was previously.awarded a.medal for distinguisned bravery, in saving life.
