SWIMMING ASSOCIATION.
'A general meeting of the Wellington Centre o£ the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held at the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last evening. Mr. G. S. Hill occupied the chair. A letter was received from the secretary of the Heretaunga Boating • Club asking permission, on behalt of the committee, to hold swimming sports at the club's gala. Tho request was granted. It was decided that all-evidence and correspondence in connection with the rescue from drowning at" Lyall Bay in February last by Mr. W. G. Morpeth, be forwarded to-the New Zealand Centre of the-Royal Humane Society. The following club carnival dates have been redrawn from last • week: — Swifts' ''Ladies, January 28; Y.M.C.A., February 25; .Victoria College, March 11; Wellington, March 25; Swifts, April 8. Mr. Smith's motion' that tlie championships 'be held at night was seconded and carried. Mr. Kirkward was elected assistant secretary. In connection with the New Zealand championships,. to be hold at' the. Te Aro Baths, the following dates have been drawn upFebruary 4, 8, and 11, 1911. The following sub-com-mittee, was appointed in connection with tho championships:—Messrs. Smith, Somerville, Fleming, Healy, and Shields.
