CROYDON PREPARATORY SCHOOL.

Yesterday 1 morning the annual prize-, giving 'and breaking-u'p ceremony in con-' nection with tho Croydon Preparatory School took place at the school in the presence of the parents and friends of the children.... Miss Coaxes presented the prizes, and in the course of the proceedings Sir "William Steward rose and delivered an' impressive little speech, which was greatly appreciated by those present. Ho told the boys there were, three things they should always avoid doing: ;they were never to "sneak," 1 ■ never to tell a lie, and never to 'say "die." Ite dwelt upon the excellent work which was being done by Miss Somerville, and of which he could not say too much. She was planting seeds that must bear fruit, fruit .which she and others could not fail to see. A short musical programme, consisting of solos, duets, and songs, was given by some of the boys. A special. prize was given bv Miss Coates for the kindest boy, "Pat" "Ward being the winner.. Tho dux of the school is John Duncan, and tho winner of the silver cup given for the highest aggregate marks is Harding.
