WRECK IN ALASKA.

Vancouver, December 12; Tho steamer Olympia, 2837 {oris, belonging to the Alaska Steam Ship Company, lias been forced ashore at Blight Island, Alaska. One hnndrcd and sis persons wero on board tho vessel. A wireless call was heard, but it soon became silent. It is believed the people are safe.TOTAL LOSS FEABED. (Rec. December 14, 0.5 a.m.) Ottawa, December 18. Tho Alaskan liner 'Olympia departed from Cordova on Saturday. Her afterhold was empty arid her stern high, the propeller being almost useless. A storm sprang up, and the vessel was r driven on a reef, and a great hole made amidships. One iundred and twenty-six passengers were saved, but it is expected that the vessel will be a total loss. She resembles an iceberg, as huge masses of ice.: are sheathing the hull. The chief portion of the cargo is being salvaged. The samo company's steamer ' NorthWestern grounded in Puget Sound recently, and a woman aboard the Olympia ■was also wrecked then.
