MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
There was a largo audience at the Missions to Seamen Institute last evening, when Mrs. Campbell.-provided an enjoyable concert. The missioner (Mr. James Moore) occupied the .chair.' The'following contributed items to the. programme • —Pianoforte'solo, Mrs. E-eich; song, Mr ■Pope; recitation, Miss li. Thompson; song, Miss SI. Mowatt; song, Mr. L. Paul; song, Jliss.A. Jennings; song, Mr. Pope. • Mrs/ Reich and Mr. Gardner played the accompaniments. Every, item was well received, and encored. Several popular choruses were.sung by;tho audiencp, and an amusing conundrum competition was won by sailors from ships in port. During a short interval, the missioner delivered an earnest address on the temperance question. ' Six men to&k the pledge, of total abstinence as a result. Hearty cheers were given tho performers-at the conclusion of the.concert, and light refreshments were afterwards dispensed.
