MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

(Before Mr. W. G. Hiddell, S.M.) Herbert Conray, appearing on remand, was charged with breaking and entering a storeroom, on the premises of Abraham Myers, Majoribanks Street, and stealing therefrom .a bicycle and a. quantity of clothing valued at £10; also a set of tools, valued at £3, belonging to Archibald Ramsay' Douglas. The date was on or about November 23. The same aconssd was further charged with the theft, on November 22, of clothing, of the total value of £5 10s., the property of Abraham Myers. Accused , pleaded not guilty, reserved his defence; niul was committed to the Supreme Court for .trial. The same accused was' also charged with the theft of a bicycle, valued at £12, belonging to Cole and Donnelly, Hawera. Farther informations charged him with stealing various.-articles,'valued at 155., the property of Charles Alfred Jones, and clothing belonging to tho same person, valued at £5 14s. Gd.; also theft of a left-luggage ticket and property valued at about. £3, belonging to .a person . unknown. Accused pleaded guiltv on all except the first two charges. For the thefts of olotiiing from the boardinghouse ho incurred six months' imprisonment, and on the charge of stealing the.luggage ticket and goods Was sentenced to three mouths' detention, the sentences to be concurrent. \ Charles Koronelio appeared on a charge of using improper language to a tram conductor. ' He was fined 205., costs of the Court, and witnesses' expenses, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. Walter Hasler was,charged with assault on a child three and'a half'years of age. Accused, who was defended by Mr. Jackson, ple'.ied not guilty, reserved his defence, and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail of £100 and' two sureties of £50 was granted.
