December T, 9.15 p.m.) Perth, December 7. ,As a result of the' conflicting statements made Mr. Degrut, a prominent metallurgist, lias been appointed to examine and report on tbe Chaffinch Mine on the Bullfinch gdldfield. The Minister for Mines, in replying to. a request from various Stock Exchanges for a Departmental examination of the property, declared that as there had been no development an investigation was unnecessary. Besides many reputable experts were available io furnish a reliable report.
