Though the conference of Steamship Owners and the Waterside Workers' Conference are pledged'to. secrecy. over_ the answer made to the men's claims, it is known, so far as Sydney, Brisbane, and Tasmania are concerned, that their demands for higher wages have been allowed in .regard to .ordinary cargo. The Federation is agreeable to increase tbe rate.to Is. 3d. an hour and Is. 9d. overtime, but cannot concede the increase of special rates demanded, NEWCASTLE TROUBLE OVER! Sydney, December 7. The trouble at the Abermain Colliery has been settled, and work was resumed to-day. ,
