The Labour Department issued gircular memoranda yesterday to all industrial unions of workers and employers, calling upon them to nominate members and acting members of. tho Arbitration Court to fill the positions of workers' and employers' representatives now occupied by Messrs. J. A. M'Cullough and William Scott, respectively. As both theso gentlemen arc prepared to continue in their respective positions, it is moro than probable that they will bo renominated by a largo majority of the organisations entitled to vote. Bach union has one vote to every fifty members, but though a system of voting is so provided tho power of appointment is vested in tho Governor.

The divorce suit of Evans v. Evans and Eliott was not concluded yesterday, and will be continued to-day. Mr. Wilford appears for the petitioner, Mr. Myers for the respondent, and Mr. Herdman for tho co-respondent. Tho case is being heard in camera by Mr. Justico Cooper and a jury of twelve.

Tho next sitting of the Bankruptcy Court will be held at the Supreme Court on Monday next, December 12. The business before the Court will lie tho hearing of applications for discharge by Lcnard Clough and Charles John Olivecrona. Tho Corporation tramway revenue last week totalled £2727, as against £2645 in the corresponding week of last year. Nearly all the New Zealand municipalities owning tramways will b'e represented at the conference which opens in Wellington on Thursday next. The Wellington delegates are tho Mayor' (Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P.) and Councillors Frost and Smith. Auckland will bo represented by Mr. Walklale, inannger of tho Tramway Company; the Christchurch Board by Mr. A. A. Bovan, chairman of tho staff Committee, and Mr. F. Thompson, general manager: Wanganui by Councillor Poyntor and Mr. Talboys, manager; and Dunedin by Mr. Alexander, tramway manager. Invercargill is unable to send a delegate to the conference, but intends to co-operate with tho bodies represented. The deliberations of tho conference will bo in camera.
