EXTRA EXPRESS TIME-TABLE.

WELLINGTON AND. AUCKLAND. The extra Wellington-Auckland express trains, referred to in The Dominion some days ago, will commence running on Sunday, December 16, from Wellington, and will then run every day, Saturdays excepted, till January 6, 1911. The extra express leaving Auckland is set down in tho time-tablo to run on week days, and not Sundays, but a sub-heading also states that it will run from December 10. This may mean that tho train will start running on December 15, and still be going on December IC, or it might mean that it will run from Auckland on December 10, but after that day not on Sundays. The meaning is somewhat vague." At the Wellington end the train will leave at 8.55 p.m. and. arrive at Auckland at 4.40 p.m., a run of 19 hours 45 minutes. The Auckland- departure is timed for 10.35 a.m. and arrival in Wellington 7.21 a.m., a journey of 20 hours •10 minutes.

Theso trains will connect at Frankton Junction with trains to and from Eotorua, Cambridge, Thames, and Waihi, and passengers to and from stations south of Te Kuiti are requested to' travel by them instead of by the ordinary express. For instance, the Wellington provincial passenger for Eotorua by the extra express will reaoh Frankton Junction at 1 p.m. and will leave there at 1.30 p.m. (half an hour later) for Eotorua, arriving thero at 5.50 p.m. The whole journey from "Wellington to Eotorua thus occupies only 20 hours 55 minutes, against nearly 31 hours on the ordinary express route, the time being lost on the ten-hour stop at Frankton Junction. Similarly the Wellington passenger by tlm extra express may leave Frankton Junction at 1.50 p.m. for Te Aroha, arriving there at 3.20 p.m. Following is the tinie-tablo with the principal stopping places:— Up—Thorndou, den., 8.55 p.m.; Palmerston, 12.33 a.m.; Feilding, 12.55 a.m.; Marion, 1.33 a.m.; Taihape, -3.10 a.m.; Waiouni. 5.7 a.m.; Ohakune, 5.55 a.m.; Wainmrino, 6.59 a.m.; Taumarunuv, 8.33 a.m.; Ongarue, 0.11 a.m.; To Kuiti, 11.5 a!m.; Frankton Junction, arr., 1 p.m.; Frankton Junction, dcp., 1.21 p.m.; Auckland, arr.. 1.40 p.m. Down.—Auckland, dep., 10.35 a.m.; Frankton Junction, arr., 2.10 p.m..
