Tucker and Upham were unavailable. MATCHES FOR TO-DAY. The senior fourth-round matches will be resumed and concluded to-day on the Basin Reserve, and at the Hutt ground. On Saturday last, at the Basiu, North,; playing against Central B, concluded their first innings with a score of 171, and their opponents ..lost four Wickets for 52. Victoria College secured 137 in a first innings against Central A, while the latter team made 97 at tho cost of a single wicket. East B obtained a big majority over South. The latter team mado 65 in its first innings, as against 158 . compiled by East B. At tho Hutt ground, Hutt made 12, in a completed first innings, and / East A obtained 149 at a cost of two wickets. Owing to the Wellington College authorities requiring the junior wicket on tho college ground to-day, the junior fixture between the South and East Clubs arranged for that ground will be started this afternoon on th,e Petono ground. The South Club's team will bo as follows:—Johnson (2), Murphy (2), Tyler,'Haigh, Bowen, Stevens, Duncan, R. Webb, M'Gowan. South team (third-class) v. Templars, at Ne.wtown Park—Carter, Kindell, Little, Parton, Pudney, Robinson, Syan, Nelson, C. A. Webb, Wright; ) GOOD MOVE BY SELECTORS. A good move on the part of the selectors" is the arrangement with the Hutt Club for the use of their wicket for a . representative practice game for the team for Auckland against the nest best. The reason of playing on the Hutt ground is that it is tile opinion of the selectors that it is similar to the Auckland wicket, and a good practice will -get the players, used to the-pace. It is also tho intention of the committee to. hold regular practice on the collegd ground, commencing from December 12. In the meantime a wicket will bo available on the Basin every evening. • "Practice . will be held l on.the college ground^without the use of nets.
