Commander Peftry, discoverer of tho North Pole, declares that his. work in the Arctic Tegions is .finished. He believes that the South Pole wiU be attempted by an American expedition. He favours a scientific expedition to the North Pole regions. He would suggest allowing a ship to bo caught in : the: ice and drift across the Pole.
