AN OLD WELLINGTON OFFENCE.

ARREST AFTER SEVEN TEARS, (By TelegraDh.—PresE Association.) Tauranga, November 30, Alfred E. Scott, employed on the Tan-ranga-To Puke Railway, was arrested this morning on a warrant of commitment for assault at Wellington on November 28, 1903. At that time Scott was summoned, but did not appear. The case was dealt with in his absence, and he was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. For seven years ho evaded arrest. Scott has been here for some time, and recently Constable Skinner noticed that he answered the description of a man who _ was wanted on a warrant. On making inquiries ho found that his surmise was justified. Scott will serve his term at Mount Eden Gaol, Auckland.
