The Attorney-General (tho Hon. Dr. Fmrllay) iniends to pay a visit to Auckland shortly after tho closo of tho session, to inquire into a. number of mattors. Ho has consented to distribute tho prizes-to the pupils of tho Auckland krammar School on December 15. • At the invitation of tho Committee of Advico of tho Normal Training Collego at Thorndou, Lord Islington will attend the students' annual brcaking-up ceremony at the college at two o'clock this afternoon. The-students will hold a farewell "social" in the evening. Miss L. Morton, assistant teacher at Carterton, Miss L. Brewor, head teacher at Dalefield, Mrs. Evans, head teacher at Mungaroa, and Mr. J. Duggan, relieving assistant teacher at Shannon, havo resigned their appointments.' Incir resignations woto accepted by the Wellington Education Board •at its meeting yesterday. Mr. Richmond Bectham, formorlv Stipendiary Magistrate at Christchurch, i returned to •Wellington by tho Drayton l brango yesterday. Hor passengers also included: Mr FA.
