The results announced, on show day had not ' been; correctly worked, ■ and it will be seen 'that -there is a marked change in the:first half-dozen places, compared with .'the; list previously published, The conditions were, that, the cows had .to ,be;iiithe possession of the society for nine days, and, the butter-fat test was to .be made on the last four days. .Points were awarded as follow:—Onetenth ':• of, a point for every pound of milk- in the four .days, and 25 points for every pound -of butter-fat produced. The",first; prizo was £8 Bs. (including Loan, and Mercantile .Agency Co.'s special of £5 as.), second prize £5 ss. (including Mr. W. D. Hammond's Violet, varied from 131b. to 301b., total 1811b.; butter-fat 8.32, total points 22(3-1 ,W. I. Lovelock's entry was fourth with the biggest milk yield of-the'-competition,. 2621b., but-•ter-faV 7.86; .''and points _ 222.7. Fifth place was occupied by Newton 'King's entry, the 'second: highest milk producer irith 2555-lb'., butter-fat , 7.65, and the '■ result of 216.8, points.
