One pound ox kidney, 2 largo tomatoes, 1 small onion, salt arid popper, 'bacon.'' '.'■'.'. .'..'. : Sqak-the kidney for half an hour in ■warm" water; dry and cut in rather thick slices, removing .all tlio core. Skin and slice the tomatoes; put into a. saucepan, the bottom'of which, has been slightly buttered. Add the onion chopped very! finely, and lay tho kidney on'the.-top; add pepper, and salt, cover and cook about oho liour.
