Tho former captured four wickets for 9. runs iu 25 balls. ■ The South Africans again, opened badly, their first four wickets laitin"- for 42 runs. ■ Zulch, who went in first man, was joined by Faulkner, who' stopped tho debacle, and raised the total to 115. Zulch had the misfortune to bo run out just before reaching his century. His was a fine, slashing innings. Faulkner's display was sound and brilliant, but was marred by ono chance. His partnership with' Pcarso put on 92. Llowelly, in somo lively play, made 50 in' 46 minutes.
