CANTERBURY GRAIN MARKET.
(By Telegraph.—l'rraa Association.! Chrjstchurchi.Novomber 25 The continuance of dry weather is causing keener inquiry for wheat on the part of local millers. At the same time farmers aro holding firmly, and, for what little wheat is offering, higher prices than those lately ruling are being asked. It is reported that milling wheat, which could be purchased a short time ago for 3s at country stations, cannot now be procured under -3s. 3d. and 3s. 4d. Ono line from a northern district-good wheat but partly, sprouted—has changed hands ~at 3s. 4d still very firm, there being a keen inquiry, but the only business passing is between merchants. A lino of very prime malting barley has lately been sold at 5s at a country station. The. business in ryegrass is confined to merchants, and thtre is more doing in this line" than in. any other description of grain or seeds. Oat sheaf chaff is firm, and supplies aro difficult to obtain. i
